Derq, a frontrunner in real-time AI-driven intelligent transportation systems (ITS), has secured strategic funding from e& capital, the venture arm of UAE-based technology group e&, and AT&T Ventures, the venture capital division of US telecoms giant AT&T.
The new funding aims to bolster Derq’s expansion across the US, GCC, and other international markets, fuel product innovation, and enhance its intellectual property portfolio.
“Derq’s vision aligns perfectly with our strategic focus on investing in disruptive technologies, such as AI, connectivity, and IoT,” said Kushal Shah, Managing Director of e& capital. “Our investment is a nod to Derq’s pioneering role in intelligent transport solutions and our broader commitment to supporting innovations that enhance global communities. We believe in Derq’s potential to create safer, smarter road networks.”
AT&T Ventures echoed this sentiment. “Derq is a pivotal player in reshaping mobility, safety, and efficiency in urban infrastructure,” said Vikram Taneja, Head of AT&T Ventures. “We are excited to collaborate and drive the development of smarter, connected infrastructure.”
Derq’s technology combines advanced AI, IoT, and sensing solutions to offer critical insights into road safety, traffic management, and connected vehicle applications. With over 25 active deployments in 16 US states and several global projects, Derq has also been recognised by the US Department of Transportation as a winner in its Intersection Safety Challenge and a key participant in the National Roadway Safety Strategy.
“We are excited to partner with e& and AT&T, two leading names in global telecoms and technology,” said Dr. Georges Aoude, Co-Founder and CEO of Derq. “This strategic backing validates our progress and enables us to scale up and deliver next-gen ITS solutions worldwide.”
Derq remains committed to advancing a digital infrastructure that will lead to safer and more efficient roads.
“We are well-positioned to lead this transformation and deploy intelligent transport solutions globally,” added Aoude.
