Chilean Startups Compete at Supernova Challenge During Expand North Star Dubai 2025
Two Chilean startups — ANCESTRAL TECH (UltraCropCare®) Technologies, led by Patricio Arias Acosta, and ChucaoTech, represented by Tomás Bravo Hepp — have been selected to compete in the prestigious Supernova Challenge, one of the most prominent startup competitions at Expand North Star Dubai, the world’s largest gathering for entrepreneurs and investors.
This recognition marks a major milestone for Chile’s innovation ecosystem, placing Latin American technology once again at the center of the global entrepreneurship stage. Competing among hundreds of startups from over 100 countries, both ANCESTRAL TECH and ChucaoTech will showcase breakthrough solutions with a strong sustainability and deep-tech focus.

The company’s presence at Expand North Star reinforces Chile’s global leadership in sustainable AgriTech innovation.
ChucaoTech: Nature-Inspired Engineering for a Smarter Future
Represented by Tomás Bravo Hepp, ChucaoTech stands out for its approach to bioinspired engineering — developing smart materials and technologies modeled after natural ecosystems. Its participation in the Supernova Challenge demonstrates how Chilean startups are embracing science-based innovation to solve global challenges in sustainability, energy, and materials engineering.
Chile’s Rising Role in the Global Innovation Arena
The inclusion of both startups in the Supernova Challenge reflects Chile’s growing presence in the Middle East’s technology ecosystem, supported by ProChile and its Innovation Summit Chile–Dubai 2025 initiative. The summit, held alongside Expand North Star, has become a strategic platform to connect Chilean innovators with investors, venture capital firms, and corporate partners from across the Gulf region.
These achievements showcase the dynamism of Chile’s innovation-driven economy and the importance of cross-regional collaboration. As Latin American startups expand into the Gulf’s innovation hubs, new bridges are being built between continents — uniting sustainability, science, and entrepreneurship in a shared global vision.
