Letter AI Raises $35 Million to Disrupt Sales Software Market

Letter AI, a startup specializing in artificial intelligence-powered sales software, has attracted $35 million in its latest Series B funding round. The company, which aims to transform how businesses handle outbound sales, is gaining attention for its AI-first approach to automating key parts of the sales process.

Founded in 2021, Letter AI serves go-to-market teams struggling with the time-intensive nature of outbound sales. The startup’s software uses large language models to generate personalized outbound emails, automate sales follow-ups, and handle lead qualification—tasks that traditionally require considerable manpower.

“There has to be a fundamentally different way to power outbound sales,” said Matt Lanter, cofounder and CEO of Letter AI.

The funding round was led by Acrew Capital, with participation from CRV and Bow Capital. Letter AI, which previously raised $11 million, now has a total valuation of $150 million.

Unlike many competitors focused on automating bulk outreach, Letter AI’s platform emphasizes personalization and intelligence, helping sales professionals avoid being filtered out as spam. The software integrates with customer relationship management (CRM) systems and uses machine learning to tailor outreach. This allows sales teams to work with more qualified leads and increase their conversion rates.

The funding will be used to expand Letter AI’s engineering and research teams, and to further develop the company’s proprietary AI models.

Investors believe Letter AI addresses a huge pain point for organizations seeking new customers in an increasingly competitive B2B environment.

“When you talk to every founder, every CRO, every VP of sales, they all hate outbound,” said Lanter. “It’s so inefficient and fraught with friction. We believe AI can finally change that.”

With the latest backing, Letter AI is set to innovate in the sales tech landscape, building tools that could redefine how companies find and engage customers.
